Просмотрел ролик от начала, до конца, не жалею времени. Весь производственный процесс, что радует все детали сделаны добротно с запасом прочности. Вся конструкция ремонтнопригодна, все агрегаты доступны для ремонта и обслуживания. Дизайн отличный, уверен, что пойдёте дальше, такому вездиходу нужна крыша и мотор дающий мощность и скорость. Уважение Вам, как инженеру, токарю, сварщику, агрегатчику, электрику, маляру и Конструктору!!!!! Очень отличная работа!!!

P.S.: В российских\белорусских и украинских деревнях деревенские "Кулибины" из металлолома и без станков создают более практичные и дешёвые вездеходы!! Да, им не хватает этого показного лоска и порошковой покраски, но ведь работает!!(-не говоря о стоимости..).🤓

What I thought was most awesome about this project.. is that it was made with tools I literally have laying around in my garage as a jack of all trades/master of none. Cutting out the custom parts with a cut off wheel and a grinder? Insane. His skill with these basic tools is amazing.

When I saw how level it floated with the driver, I realized his skill was on another level. The machining and innovation was very impressive, but his ability to create a reliable vehicle with this function is very special 👍

You are amazing. Your attention to detail is nothing short of miraculous. Please keep making these wonderful videos so we can enjoy watching them.

This build is nothing short of remarkable! Outstanding engineering!

Прикольно, но конструкция перетяжеленная и переусложненная. На простой плоскодонке было бы проще, легче, надежней и больше груза бы брала.

1) подвески нет 2) привод через дифф, нужно постоянно держать этот тарантас на курсе, а для поворота блокировать одну сторону, на второй же в это время вдвое увеличиваются обороты и вдвое же падает момент 3) гусеницы, скорее всего, скажут "до свидания", если придется преодолевать препятствия под острыми углами, или на пути попадется пенек, кочка и т.п., на которые гусеница наедет краем И это основа, фундамент гусеничной техники! А так еще есть вопросы по ремонтопригодности этого аппарата и его дизайну, который, кстати, уже привел к ухудшению его плавучих качеств. Так что похвалы этому инженеру-конструктору под большим вопросом.

Military amphibious vehicles also have a boat-like propulsion behind which can be switched from the wheels, and like that it's using the same engine, without needing to be turned off, it's just some gears which change from wheels propulsion to boat propulsion while the engine still runs. So you won't be left in the middle of the river at the mercy of random water currents.

Really good technical build, very neat, well done

Great stuff. As you built it I realized it would be a tad front heavy which it seems was correct. The tracks in non-propeller driven amphibious vehicles should be cupped for propulsion. I think that others are correct, you need to adapt a PTO to a prop that can be lowered by U joint into the water. You could get walking speed or faster pretty easily.

The tracked vehicles in the military have heavy duty vertical plates built into the tracks. Those plates are what the tracked vehicles use to "swim" and move across the water. I was stationed in South Korea and was the driver of the Self Propelled Vulcan and an APC. But I had to "swim" the Vulcan across a raging river that a tank had just sunk to the bottom of less than 1 hour before my turn to go across (scary).

@@iteerrex8166 Yes, I did say that because his experience needs to be passed down to high school students to get them prepared for the real world! As it is, there are fewer fabricators and other job applicants that can't even conceptualize from scratch and that is what industries need and want from these job candidates. BUT, his position should demand that he receives a handsome salary that would also prepare him for a great retirement as well!

@@iteerrex8166 I received some of my training from a semi retired ex-miltary guy while attending high school and his background was a machinist by trade and this guy was about as hardcore as any one person that could be! This guy expected for you to perform or get the boot! I had 8 weeks of his strict policies and all of my courses were in 8 week increments. I learned automotive tech, automotive mech, small engine repair, automotive electrical diagnostics and repair, suspension and brakes, automotive engine rebuilding and basic machine shop operation and safety plus welding. I also took electrical, electronics 1 & 2 while also in high school! My last 2 years of high school was jammed pack for a learning experience that you just don't forget! I was well on my way to a bright future and this is the kind of training that should be available to all high schools U.S. wide!

I have been and always will be a fan of DIY projects. Those legalized institutions like high schools, colleges, universities and big business only choke or stymie ones creativity. I might be wrong, but I'm willing to go out on a limb to suggest, he was offered some very lucrative deals, but turned them down. He HAS, what none of them possess nor ever will have. The gift and knowledge of imagination. He is passing down his knowledge to others, but the way he wants to do it and with people he wants to share it with. People like me and you 😁

I loved the video and you was having way too much fun in that vehicle and so would I! I loved the way it was built too. If I was hiring a mechanically inclined. You be definitely hired to invent stuff like a space craft of some kind. Keep up the great work.

It only took him 5 secs to do a complete paint job, my car was at the body shop for 3 months just to get the wing repainted. These people really ought to take a leaf out of Don's book!

Давно хотел построить амфибию по такому же принципу. Теперь хоть посмотрю, как бы это могло выглядеть 😎 если бы у меня был токарный и я не был бы хронически ленив. Автору респект 👍👋 И да, карданы в этой конструкции не нужны 👆, достаточно поставить ведущие колеса на оси моста ! Установка карданов это инерция мышления 😁

Great fab skills/ Really enjoyed watching this video. As a former driveshaft manufacturing/design engineer I can point out that cutting and welding a drive shaft is questionable at best. Drive shafts are typically induction heated, quenched and tempered post spline rolling and machining then final ground for bearings. This order of processing locks the material into a specific phase which translates to strength and durability. If the drivetrain fails I bet that is where it will fail.

On a production vehicle designed for thousands of hours of commercial use you need that, what the lad did was perfectly adequate, it probably won't even see enough use to knock out the UJs at their steep angles.

Все неплохо, но под такими углами карданные шарниры работают крайне неравномерно. Надо было использовать вместо карданных шарниры равных угловых скоростей. На таких углах карданы долго не протянут

В мастерской, где в его распоряжении были токарный и фрезерный станки, и сварка, он без всяких чертежей сварганил штабелеукладчик для мешков с мукой. Приехал министр, посмотрел, как работает агрегат, и отдал распоряжение конструкторскому бюро и заводу соответствующего профиля. КБ по всем правилам чертёжного искусства выполнило задание, завод воплотил его в металл, приехал министр. А агрегат не работает. Потому что мужика не допустили к процессу его изготовления. Пришлось допустить. И по всему Союзу его штабелеукладчик нашёл применение. Кстати, на Химкинском вдхр. Филипп Фролыч умудрялся ловить с лодки сразу на одиннадцать удочек. Но министр ни разу не приехал посмотреть, как ему это удаётся. Видать, министр был не рыбак...

Муторно,! сначала интрига!, что то новое!!!, а мост,! знакомый, и дальше больше с показом, всевозможного инструмента, весь оплевался, и надо было приобретать, столько !, что бы состряпать эту ,,байдУ", которую у нас каждый, бросивший, бухать, делает на коленке, без ,,супер," инструментов, на коленке,!!! и нах.... я это смотрел?

Although it can move well in slightly muddy areas, it is not so good when going through deep watery areas, perhaps An additional propeller (or a hoovercraft-like design) to drive it faster and smoother.

Considering how lethargic it was in the water, perhaps you should consider adding an impeller/water jet, or ducted/screened propeller, operating off a PTO or transfer case.
