    My plumbing tip .. Always put bath at end of drain. That way you have all that water flushing out the entire pipe . Think about it : )

  • @XSpImmaLion
    @XSpImmaLion Жыл бұрын

    I enjoy the compilation, I really do. But just to let people know - a pretty big portion of plumbing tips in this channel and several others, particularly ones that deal with PVC pipe fixes and quick ways to stop a leak, or ways to fit different pipe sizes and shapes, will become a huge source of headaches later on if it's left at that. Reason is pretty basic - you wanna always keep the insides of your plumbing as smooth, clean and straight as possible, because every snag, every reduction point, every different type of material involved, every non-smooth surface that the insides of your plumbing has is a potential point to accumulate crap, to crack, to create pinholes and for stuff to get stuck - clean water pipes or sewage, doesn't matter. Water is constantly flowing at pressure in those pipes, and you don't want to end up with a bigger crack or complete rupture, a total blockage, or dirty contaminated water just because you decided to follow DIY tips. So, even if some tips looks cool or smart, keep this in mind. Most stuff are valid for quick temporary fixes, but I've seen a whole ton of ideas in these compilation DIY videos that while it looks cool and apparently solves the problem quickly, the stuff it's being applied to wasn't made for that, code often doesn't allow it, and it's for very good reasons. As for all the tips on heating and molding or melting PVC for fixes, adaptations, joining segments and whatnot - yes, PVC is pliable and malleable at high temperatures, but this also degrades the material making it more fragile and prone to cracks, plus it emits toxic fumes when you put a flame to it. This is why joinery is made with a solvent, not by heating it. This is why PVC pipes are sold in different shapes and sizes, plus you have all possible reinforced joint shapes to use plus all types of connectors - it's because you really shouldn't be trying to heat them and shape the thing yourself. The molecular structure of the material changes, becomes more brittle, more fragile, and then you get cracks, holes and material degradation. Also no, your anecdotal experience of a pipe that didn't burst 10 years after you "fixed it" doesn't count. So there you go.

It got funnier when a strong stream of water started shooting out of the hotel after we turned the water back on(we were installing a backflow device) It turned out to be a nail through the copper that didn't show up until the water was shut off and then back on again. He was so cheap that he just had us band-aid it with a thick piece of bungee strap tightened with a hose clamp! It works but should be used as a temporary fix only.

    @@edwarddrost5299 Its usualy done to cylinders and surfaces that have o rings moving in them ,but also honing is done on machines in that cast it can be used to get final dimension.its finishing process that allows oil and other lubricants to stick to the surface better and to get smooth surface that reduces friction between two parts.You would leave 0.1-0.5mm of extra material for honing.
